Durability of building materials and repair methods for deteriorated structures

2021/08/10

Main research themes

Our main research target is concrete as an important construction material for realizing a sustainable society with efficient maintenance works and rehabilitation techniques

Eco concrete
  • Environment activation concrete (Concrete mixed with amino acid)
  • Recycle of waste concrete(Utilization as concrete aggregates)
  • Utilization of byproducts(Fly ash, blast furnace slag, silica fume)

Diagnosis of deteriorated concrete structures and effective repair methods
  • Evaluation of steel corrosion in concrete(Chloride-induced corrosion, carbonation)
  • Utilization of non-destructive methods(Near infrared spectroscopy, polarization resistance)
  • Repair methods for deteriorated structures(Electrochemical methods against steel corrosion in concrete, surface impregnation materials)
  • Development of repair materials(Path repair materials containing lithium nitrite)
